Toyota said in a statement that the new factory (Gateway Plant No. 2) of the phase is scheduled to begin operating in mid-2013 with a capacity of about 70 thousand units per year.
The company explained that the plant (Gateway Plant No. 1) produce 220 thousand units per year.
The company said the Japanese cars that they will also invest an additional $ 9.2 billion yen for the resumption of production in a factory, "Tai Koo Auto Works" at the end of this year, an annual production capacity of about 20 thousand units.
The company closed the plant in late May of 2010 because of falling demand.
The company said the move will increase the total annual production capacity of Toyota in Thailand to 760 thousand units by the middle of next year.
In 2011, Toyota halted production in Thailand for months because of flooding experienced by the country.
