So if there’s any car worthy of a modern day revival, it’s the venerable DS. While studying at France’s Institut Superieur de Design, design student Ugo Spagnolo took on this challenge as part of his internship with Citroen.
There's a good possibility the car featured in the video is the production version of the Geneva show DS High Rider concept, otherwise known as the DS4. However, it may be something different altogether like the long rumored DS5 . Watch the video after the break and tell us what you think.
The hottest variant yet of the French automaker's premium supermini is powered by a tweaked version of the BMW-PSA Citroen Peugeot co-developed 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that's also used on the rivaling MINI Cooper JCW model. In the DS3 Racing, the 1.6 THP delivers an output of 200HP.
The second member of Citroen's growing DS family after the DS3 supermini is a strange mix of a C-segment three-door hatchback with muscular details, a gently sloping roof line and heightened ride.
With a few exceptions such as the fabric roof and the polished 19-inch alloy wheels, what you see in these pictures is what you'll get when the DS4 goes into production early next year.
The slightly increased ride height suggests that the three-door DS4 may step into crossover territory, further differentiating it from the next-generation C4 hatchback with which it shares its platform and mechanical hardware.
So, you find Citroen's C-Crosser SUV being a tad on the dull side? Well, then we're pretty certain that you'll appreciate this custom-made creation that that goes by the name D-Crosser. It combines a modified body of the classic Citroen DS with the chassis and powetrain of one of the most capable 4x4s, the Toyota Land Cruiser. A complete set of photos of Citroen's Frankfurt motorshow-bound concept car have leaked online. As you can see from the images, the prototype model bears the name 'Revolte' while the signature logo on the bonnet suggests that the car is part of Citroen's newly formed DS line-up that includes the recently announced DS3 premium supermini. While we don't have the details behind the DS Revolte, the vehicle's design that draws on the iconic 2CV implies that it could be previewing a sub-DS3 model.Despite the 2CV styling cues that include details such as the fabric top that covers the whole length of the roof and the curvy front and rear ends, the Revolte boasts a more athletic and aggressive design than the classic Citroen, which is more than welcome, of course.
Other highlights include the 'suicide' rear doors and the overly futuristic interior with the alien spaceship-like dashboard. Expect to hear more about the Revolte in the next few days.
It's been a while since we last heard anything new from Citroen, but the French automaker certainly caught our attention today with the announcement on the launch of the DS Inside Design Studio configurator. It's not very often that we get the chance to fool around with a concept car even though in this case, the DS Inside is much more of a pre-production model than a pure study. Users can choose between two basic styles, "Paris Night" and "Ethnic", with the configurator offering a seemingly endless array of color schemes.The three-door premium hatchback that revives Citroen's iconic DS badge was unveiled to the public for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The production model that is slated to hit European showrooms sometime in 2010 will be positioned above the C3, which continues as normal.

Oh yes; even though we're still more than a year away from the presentation of the first premium model of Citroen's newly-found DS line-up which will be none other than the production version of the Geneva-bound, DS Inside, the French automaker has already made plans to introduce a dedicated line of lifestyle accessories. As you can see in our photo gallery after the jump, the proposed DS collection will include among other products, belts, hand luggage, sunglasses even a trendy cell phone and a snowboard.
