Both models sport a new front end with LED daytime running lights and gloss black features, chrome details up front, on the profile and the tailgate strip, redesigned rear lights on the five-seat Scenic and a different lower air intake design and longitudinal roof bars for the Grand Scenic.

The current, third generation of Renault’s minivan was launched onto the European market in 2009 and is available as the five-seat Scenic and the longer 7-seat Grand Scenic. Though we can’t be 100 percent sure, the prototype caught by our spy photographers appears to be the shorter Scenic model.

At 4,250mm meters long, the R-Space is slightly shorter than the current Scenic (4,344mm) and features a much more expressive exterior design. The interior styling is quite futuristic with the floating dashboard and the form of the seats echoing those of the DeZir concept car.
“We provided a strong visual and functional contrast between the driver environment, where the focus is on driving pleasure, and a surprising and highly-original rear section conceived as a play space for children," said interior designer Alexandre Gommier.

French carmaker Renault has revealed detailed pricing for its all-new Scenic model. The five-seater MPV that will officially go on sale in the UK on July 17th will be available in 28 different versions spread across five-trim levels (Extreme, Expression, Dynamique, TomTom Edition and Privilège), with prices ranging from £13,595 to £22,295. Renault claims that depending on the version, the new Scenic costs up to £2,060 less than its predecessor and that it is priced to undercut all of its key rivals. UK buyers can choose between eight differnet engines at launch including three gasoline and five diesel units, ranging from 86HP to 160HP.

Along with the new 250HP Megane Coupe RS, Renault will also stage the world debut of three more Megane-based models at the Geneva Show, the Scenic and Grand Scenic MPVs and the Megane Grandtour station-wagon. The French firm's new people carrier will be available once again in two styles, the five-seater Scenic and the extended-wheelbase Grand Scenic that can accommodate seven passengers in three rows of seats.As you can see in the images that come from a patent application made by Renault with the EU trademark office, the Scenic III's styling draws on the latest Megane as well as the Laguna - at least in what concerns the front-end design.
Renault's Opel Zafira and Volkswagen Touran rival will share the same engine line-up with the rest of the Megane range. This means that the petrol engine range will consist of 100 and 110HP 1.6-liter units, a 140HP 2.0-liter and the turbocharged 130HP 1.4TCe and 180HP 2.0TCe. Diesel options will include 1.5 dCi 85HP, 90 HP, 105 HP and 110 HP units along with more powerful 130 HP, 150HP and 160 HP variants.
As for the Megane Grandtour, Renault's C-Segment station-wagon is expected to feature a longer wheelbase than the hatchback model. The engine range variations will of course be on par with the Megane hatchback.
2009 Renault Grand Scenic III
Following hot on the heels of the new Megane hatchback and Megane Coupe models that were introduced at the Paris Motor Show earlier this month will be Renault's third generation Scenic minivan that's due in showrooms in the first quarter of 2009. However, thanks to the EU patent office, we can give you an early sneak peak of Renault's mid-size people carrier through these official application images. Interestingly, the black and white photos reveal that Renault's design team looked more towards the Laguna Coupe for inspiration rather than to the new Megane hatchback. -Continued 
As you can see, the French company will continue its strategy of offering a two-model line-up for its new mid-size people carrier: the five-seater Scenic III and the seven-seater Grand Scenic featuring an extended wheelbase.

It’s not often that we get the chance to see a camouflaged prototype facing the road… upside down. According to our “Espanol colegas” at Diablomotor who were tailing the Renault Scenic III test mule from a safe distance of three or four cars behind, no one was hurt in the accident. If anything else, Renault’s engineers will have the unique opportunity to evaluate the Scenic III’s crash test performance in real-life conditions.
