Meet Optimus, a Monstrous Dodge Ram 3500 Truck with 1,200HP and Over 2,000 lb-ft

We've shown you a lot of insane pickup trucks on these pages but this one is quite the find - and not only because it has the potential to emit as much CO2 as a small country with every sudden move of your right foot.

Nicknamed Optimus, the heavily modified Dodge Ram 3500 truck is powered by a twin turbocharged Cummins diesel engine that churns out a whopping 1,200 horsepower and an even more mind-blowing 2,000+ lb-ft (2,711Nm) of peak torque! A pretentious beast indeed.

Nissan's Official Footage of the Juke-R Versus Supercars Race in Dubai

Draining all the publicity it can get from the Juke-R's appearance in Dubai where it competed against the Lamborghini Gallardo, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and Ferrari 458 Italia supercars on a makeshift track, Nissan has now released official footage from the race.

This is the third video we've seen of Juke-R's win in the past two weeks, so we won't blame you if you've had enough of…Nissan's Groundhog Day. The rest of you can watch the new clip right after the break.

Lamborghini CEO Says No to Turbo Engines - At Least Until the End of this Decade

Turbocharging and direct-injection technology are the latest fads when it comes to petrol engines in the auto industry.

While not a pioneer, the Volkswagen Group did its part to bring turbocharging to the masses beginning from the 1990s and its 1.8-liter turbocharged four that powered all sorts of vehicles. Today, the German auto group continues to lead the way with a variety of turbocharged (and supercharged) gasoline lumps, the most recent being its 4.0-liter V8 TFSI with up to 520-horses.

Yet surprisingly, one of the group's flagship brands, Lamborghini, does not have a turbocharged engine and this despite the fact that it has succumbed to the all-wheel drive trend made popular by Audi.

New Aerial Video of the Nissan Juke-R's Race Against the Gallardo, SLS and 458 in Dubai

Nissan is making a strong statement with its product launches lately pitting its vehicles directly against more expensive offerings from established premium brands.

And we're not only talking about Infiniti's recent commercial where the M35h beat the Porsche Panamera S Hybrid in a quarter mile sprint, as the Japanese carmaker also setup a race between the prototype 485hp Nissan Juke-R and the Lamborghini Gallardo, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and Ferrari 458 Italia supercars.

The race took place on a tightly designed makeshift track in Dubai on the sidelines of the local 24hrs Endurance Race.

Following on from the first grainy video, Carscoop reader "Meto D" tipped us off on a higher-quality clip shot from the air that also includes footage from inside the car driven by the winner of the 2008 PlayStation GT Academy competition, Lucas Ordoñez.

Watch the Nissan Juke-R Pawn a Ferrari 458, a Lamborghini Gallardo and a Mercedes SLS AMG

There's no question that the Nissan Juke-R is wickedly fast, but is it actually fast enough to give a lesson to exotic supercars like the Ferrari 458 Italia, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4, for example?

Well, there's a lot to take into consideration including the place and the person driving (let's not forget that any car is as fast as its driver is), but for whatever reasons, this time the Juke-R came out as the winner.

In the video clip from Carsandspeed that follows, we see the 485HP-strong Juke-R winning a race against the three aforementioned supercars on a tightly designed makeshift track in Dubai as part of a promotional event on the sidelines of the local 24hrs Endurance Race, in which it took part as the official pace car.

We managed to find out that the man behind the wheel of the Juke-R was 26-year old Lucas Ordoñez from Spain who was the winner of the 2008 PlayStation GT Academy competition.

This is What 1,250-horses can do to Silicone Prostheses

We can hardly see this video making it on Discovery channel, but our science-minded readers will surely appreciate the following clip that shows what a twin-turbocharged Lamborghini Gallardo tuned by Underground Racing with some 1,250 wheel-horsepower can do to a pair of silicone implants when it's accelerating full force.

You can take notes of the effects while watching the video that follows after the break.

Lamborghini Outing Results in a Gallardo Crashing on the Highway

Remember the highly publicized exotic supercar crash in Japan about a month ago that involved eight Ferraris, three Mercedes-Benzes and a Lamborghini? Well, we just stumbled on another incident involving several supercars, although this time, only one of them crashed.

Unlike the Japanese pileup which we saw after it happened, this Lamborghini crash was filmed as it occurred by a following vehicle's dashboard mounted camera...

The Roast of a Lamborghini Gallardo in the Czech Republic

We must admit that 2011 was a hot year for supercars, both in the metaphorical sense that most brands made record sales, and literally, since we saw many exotics go up in flames.

The most publicized issue was perhaps that of the self-combusting 458 Italias, which forced Ferrari to issue a recall. The truth, though, is that apart from the Prancing Horse, other supercar makers have had their share of scorching hot cars – not to mention numerous crashes - some of them causing mirth while others were quite terrifying.

Great Balls of Fire: Racing Driver Wins Rally even though his Lamborghini was Burning up

Most people, even professional drivers, would probably pull aside on the road if their vehicle caught on fire, but not racing car driver Jason White and his navigator John White.

In the middle of the Targa High Country 2011 race, which took place at Mt Buller in Australia during the first weekend of November, the dynamic duo noticed that the rear-end of their brand-new $600,000 Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale was up in flames.

But instead of calling it a day, the Tasmanians decided to continue the race – and guess what; despite the fact that their Lambo was slowly roasting, they actually managed to win the race!

Does the name Robert Himler ring a bell? Perhaps not, but there's a very good chance that you've seen the video of his mother freaking out while taking a ride in his flame-throwing, 1,250 wheel-horsepower, twin-turbocharged Lamborghini Gallardo.

The four-and-a-half minute-long video clip has garnered more than 2.7 million views since it was uploaded on Youtube on August 6.

New Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder Brings Rear-Wheel Drive to Drop-Top Model

Once upon a time, sports cars and rear-wheel drive layouts were synonymous terms, but not anymore - especially when it comes to the Volkswagen Group that has essentially built an empire of all sorts of front- and all-wheel drive models.

But every so often, even the VW Group succumbs to the allure of rear-wheel drive. Today, its Lamborghini brand introduced the new Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder, which combines the open-top body style with rear wheel drive.

Lamborghini Chief Tester Valentino Balboni Drives the Gallardo Superleggera in Monza [Video]

Getting up close and personal with a Lamborghini Gallardo is quite an experience. Especially if said car is the lightweight Superleggera and the venue is the famous Monza circuit in Italy.

Now, everyone would give his or her right arm to get in the driver’s seat and push the pedal to the metal. YouTube member Marchettino, however, was perfectly happy to occupy the passenger seat when the Superleggera was being driven around the track.

Rumors: Lamborghini to Launch RWD Gallardo Spyder LP 550-2 at the LA Show?

[Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante pictured above]

When Lamborghini unveiled the Super Trofeo Stradale at the 64th IAA in Frankfurt, we thought that this limited production version (only 150 pieces) would be the Italian company’s farewell to its smallest supercar before its replacement arrives sometime next year.

But if a report from Teamspeed proves accurate, the Italian supercar manufacturer may have one more special edition of the Gallardo up its sleeve. This time, it’s a rear-wheel drive version of the open-top Gallardo Spyder named the LP550-2.

Swede Turns a Lamborghini Gallardo into…a Ski Transporter

We'd hardly call the Lamborghini Gallardo –or any exotic supercar for that matter- the most appropriate type of vehicle for skiers travelling from one ski resort to the other, but professional freeskier and alpine ski racer Jon Olson strongly disagrees.

The 29 year-old Swede has made a habit of using Lamborghinis as his personal vehicles for driving to various ski events across Europe.

Video: Swedish Man Jumps Over a Speeding Lamborghini Gallardo

Jumping over speeding cars seems to have become something of a sport lately – albeit an extremely dangerous one at that.

After recent footage of a man performing a flip over an Acura NSX at the 2nd Street Certified Car Show in Milwaukee, we now have a video showing a Swedish man jumping over a Lamborghini Gallardo going around 80km/h [~50mph].

We don’t have to tell you that for every successful stunt of this kind, there are many more that go horribly wrong (i.e. the Lada stunt seen in the third clip). So yeah, kids, don't try this at home…

Video: Lamborghini Gallardo "Ditched" to Avoid Oncoming Car

After a great trackday at the Modena circuit in Italy, the owner of this Lamborghini Gallardo took the road towards home. Little did he know just how much (deep) trouble he would get into…

According to supercar enthusiasts Marchettino who filmed his friend in the Italian supercar doing the rounds on the track and during the aftermath of the incident you're about to watch in the video below, at some point the owner of the Gallardo tried to pull to the side of the narrow road to avoid coming in contact with another vehicle.

Unfortunately, he miscalculated the width of the road and ended up half-way into the ditch.

Lamborghini Owner Wanted to Warm up his Car in Malaysia: Yep, That Ought to do it…

The owner of a relatively new Lamborghini Gallardo in Malaysia wanted to "warm up" his topless supercar but got much more than what he bargain for when the Italian vehicle burst into flames along Jalan Beringin in Bukit Damansara on Friday.

"I was driving up a slope when I noticed smoke coming out of the engine," told the local media the owner of the car, who preferred to stay anonymous. "I had the car for three years and it was heartbreaking to see it go up in flames," he added.

Lamborghini to Roll Out More Limited Production Supercars like the Sesto Elemento

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelman surprised everyone when, on the eve of the Frankfurt Motor Show, announced that the Italian company would put the impressive Sesto Elemento concept into production.

The carbon fibre-bodied Sesto Elemento is powered by a 570HP V10 and, thanks to its low weight of 999 kg (2,202 pounds), accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 2.5 seconds.

Now, if you thought that this was a surprise, here comes another one: Winkelmann revealed that the very limited-production Sesto Elemento (20 units) is only the beginning.

Video: Lamborghini Aventador vs Gallardo Spyder vs Ferrari 360 Modena

If it where any other type of cars, we'd probably skip this vide altogether, but it’s not every day that you see a spanking new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 getting ready to eat sprint race a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder and Coupe, a Ferrari 360 Modena Spider and the tail of the bunch, a BMW M3 Coupe E46.

Of course there's a matter of who's driving the Italian supercars and what condition they're in, but it looks like the Aventador and the LP 560-4 Spyder pretty much smoked the rest.

Click past the break to watch the short clip for yourself.

IAA 2011: Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale in the Flesh

We were hoping to see a replacement for the Gallardo supercar in Frankfurt but instead, Lamborghini showed us yet another limited edition version of its entry-level model.

Billed as the most extreme Gallardo ever, the new LP 570-4 Super Trofeo is loosely based on the race car from the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo and will be produced in a limited run of 150 units.
