Jonathan Browning, CEO of Volkswagen Group of America said that "they are planning to increase its dealer network in United States which will be helpful for them to meet their long term sales goal".
Last year VW sales in U.S was up to 256,830 vehicles whereas VW wants to sell more than 300,000 vehicles in the U.S. this year.
It is been expected that the increase in the dealer network may boost the U.S. annual sales of VW brand cars to 800,000 by 2018.
Currently VW haves around 600 dealers in U.S and the sales have increased from 2.5 percent to 2.6 percent.
Browning says that this year he is expecting that the sales units for this year will range from 12.8 million to 12.85 million whereas this should increase in 2012 ranging up to 14 million.
He also says that from the reports it is clear that VW's U.S. national sales company is profitable this year for the first time since 2003.
